  • How Many Treatments Will I Need?
    We recommend a course of 6 treatments to absolutely ensure we deactivate the unwanted micro-organism, however, this will be discussed upon consultation after looking at the severity of the condition.
  • How Long Is Left Between Each Treatment?
    Treatment frequency for fungal nail infections is every 2-3 weeks.
  • How Does It Work?
    The treatment uses a combination of two laser technologies, both lasers are used in each treatment. Step 1: A Q-Switched Nd:YAG KTP laser creates micro-cavitation and acoustic shock waves. This breaks the hard outer shell of the fungus spore and heats up the area beneath the nail bed. Step 2: An LP Nd:YAG laser causes non-specific heat conduction, thermally deactivating the unwanted micro-organism.
  • Does It Hurt?
    Heat can be felt during the treatment, however, this shouldn't be too uncomfortable as the nail is dead.
  • Am I Suitable?
    The following contraindications may possibly stop you form having fungal nail treatment: -Skin cancer -Use of systemic anti fungal therapy in the last 6 months -Pregnancy -Use of nail colouring dyes that have change the nail colour -Nail pigmentation caused by existence of bacterial nail infection -Existence of concomitant nail disorders such as psoriasis of the nail plate, atopic dermatitis
